# VpsAgent — Terms of Service (placeholder)

VpsAgent v1 is in early operation. A complete ToS will be published before public launch. Until then, the operative principles:

1. **Pay-on-success.** USDC settles only when the rented instance is reachable on TCP :22 within the rental window. Failed provisions never settle; agents pay nothing.
2. **No refunds after settle.** Once an instance has been confirmed running and the EIP-3009 authorization has been settled on-chain, the rental is non-refundable for that period — even if the box later fails. Tell us via `POST /feedback` if you believe upstream failure justifies an exceptional refund.
3. **Renewals are pay-on-confirm.** The renewal payment is verified but not settled until the extension is actually in place upstream — normally within a minute — and the original expires_at remains in force until it is. If it never completes you are not charged at all.
4. **Abuse policy.** Don't use rented boxes for unsolicited bulk traffic, scanning, attacks against third parties, hosting illegal content, or activity prohibited by upstream providers' AUPs. Rentals associated with abuse complaints will be terminated without refund.
5. **Privacy.** We don't collect PII. Wallet addresses and on-chain tx hashes are public by virtue of the protocol. We remember which wallet paid for which rental so that wallet can look up its own rentals (`GET /rentals`, signature required); we never show them to anyone else.
